My name is Lynda Glorioso. I’ve been involved in research with the paranormal for fifteen years now. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, which is well known for being one of the most haunted cities in the world. My interest in the paranormal began when I was just a young girl, although during this time I was actually quite frightened of ghost and things that go bump in the night. As I grew older I found my interest in it growing but it wasn’t until I reached the age of 16 that I decided to find out more about this field.
I had already read several books about the paranormal but I wanted to take it a step further. I found a few people in the area who were already working in the field. At first they were a bit hesitant about taking on someone so young. However when my parent’s agreed to it they finally decided that they would teach me what they knew. Then when we all felt comfortable they said I could come along and watch on some cases. They weren’t really an “official” team. They were just a few people who held an interest and had been doing what they did for quite some time. If I recall correctly there was even an actual parapsychologist amongst them. I studied with them for a couple of years before we all decided to go separate ways. Unfortunately I didn’t get back in the field itself for quite some time.
However even during the down time I continued to read and research everything I could about it. I studied everything from the scientific side of it using (what was then modern) equipment, as well as the more spiritual side including working with psychics and mediums. I also read quite a bit about different religions and beliefs. Then one day I decided I missed doing the actual field work. I searched my area for a team but was unable to locate one. Hard to believe that’s possible now with all the new teams around, but it’s true. Back then there were none available. I did it on my own for a while, occasionally accompanied by friends interested.
After some heavy thought I decided to put my background in management, and photography as well as all studies involved with my major including business law, and psychology to use. It was then I founded my team. Though our name has since changed to Seekers of Unexplained Louisiana we still have the same goals then as we do now. The most obvious perhaps is to further study the paranormal and try and answer the timeless question of “do ghost exist”. However we also try and help those we can along the way. This includes our clients, fellow investigators, team members, and even many local charities when possible.
In the four years my team has been around I have met many wonderful people in my team members, clients and just others in the field including of course, those at IPI. I was first introduced to IPI through a good friend and former member of my team. I don’t recall exactly when I became a part of it, but I’m very glad I did. I have met many kind and intelligent people there who have helped me both as an investigator/researcher in the field and in my own personal life as well. They have made me feel welcome from my first day on the forum. They never judge and always are wiling to offer advice or help out however they can. IPI is not just an organization; it is also a family that always welcomes new members with open arms and minds.
