Victoria Plaza Hotel: A Ghost Story

OLD HOTELS REVERBERATE with the echoes of their past. Their walls are painted in layers of drama, absorbing an imprint of each passing guest’s life with all its romance, joy, sadness, and danger. It’s no wonder so many hotels are haunted.

George knows this first-hand, having worked for years at one of the oldest hotels in Victoria, British Columbia on Vancouver Island. Its basement – an old speakeasy – seems to be the focal point of the haunting, where George felt distinctly unwelcome. This is George’s story….

Spooky sighting sparks investigation

PARANORMAL investigators are to look into spooky sightings of a ghostly child pulling a cart near Carew.

The spooktacular sight was spotted on the A477. The witness told the Western Telegraph: “Has anyone else seen a ghost of a young boy pulling a wooden cart which is too large to be a toy?

“I saw him running across the road very quickly and when I arrived at the point where he would have been, there was no sign of him.

Spooky tales told at Denison Library

Investigator of things supernatural and producer of the television series “Paranormal Generation,” Curt Strutz visited Norelius Community Library in Denison to share the experiences he had at some of the United States most notorious – and some lesser known – haunted locations.

For some of the dozens gathered in the darkened library, questions about the science, theory and practice of paranormal investigation also emerged.

“The paranormal field is such an untapped field, we have just begun to scratch the surface,” he started out by saying.

“When people talk about ghosts, and the paranormal, and hauntings, most of the time the paranormal does focus around death … You can look at most haunted properties, the ones that are active, the most popular, and they seem to have people that have passed away in them. Typically the death seems to happen to someone that has a high amount of emotional energy built up inside of them right before they passed away.”

Emails from dead man’s account

When Jack Froese, 32, died of a heart arrhythmia in June 2011, he left behind a number of grieving friends and family members. But the BBC reports that several mysterious posthumous emails from Froese’s account have brought some happiness and closure to those who were closest to him.

Last November, five months after Froese’s death, his childhood best friend Tim Art received an email from Froese’s account.

“One night in November, I was sitting on my couch, going through my emails on my phone and it popped up, ‘sender: Jack Froese.’ I turned ghost white when I read it,” Hart told the BBC. “It was very quick and short but to a point that only Jack and I could relate on.”

Edge of Darkness Paranormal: Things that go bump in the night

If you’ve ever had the feeling that you’re not alone, it could be that you’re not. If you’ve ever heard something odd that can’t be explained, it usually can. And if you’ve ever seen something that looked like a mist, a shadow, or a flash of light, you may have had a paranormal experience.

And the next call you make should be to the Edge of Darkness Paranormal team.

Edge of Darkness Paranormal was founded just a few months ago, but consists of seasoned paranormal investigators with lots of training and experience under their belts. All Berks County natives, lead investigator Kenny Weikel Jr. and his team of paranormal investigators Barb McCarthy, Erik Julian and Dawn Zelano, work to explain the unexplained.

“Our primary goal is to help anyone that feels that they are experiencing paranormal activity,” said Kenny, who has been a paranormal investigator for the past seven years. “Almost every activity can be explained by an earthly phenomenon, a mental or physical condition or an actual paranormal event.”

Paranormal “Experts”?

 by: Chris Ratliff
PGR-IN – Paranormal Ghost Research Indiana

In today’s socially acceptable field of the paranormal, there is a minor (and sometimes major) consensus as to what defines the classification of an expert.  We all see the articles and news feeds from around the world, whereby a “paranormal expert”, who investigates the paranormal, proclaims (declares) a place, person, or item as having paranormal activity or is being haunted.  However, what references are given by these articles and feeds to the person they are declaring as an expert?  And for that matter, what references can be presented for making such a statement that makes a person, group, or organization expert(s) in the paranormal field?  Firstly, let’s define the specifics of the term “paranormal expert”.

Ghostly events as horror movie is filmed at Rookery House in Birmingham

POLTERGEISTS and psychic investigators have been spotted in a historical Birmingham house.

But would-be visitors to Rookery House in Erdington can relax a little – the spooky guests were part of a spine-chilling movie filmed at the council property.

The cast and crew, however, have warned that they DID experience some mysterious goings on while they worked in the 18th century venue.

The Casebook of Eddie Brewer stars Ian Brooker, famous as the voice of Wayne Foley in The Archers, and Hollywood stalwart Peter Wight who has previously starred alongside A listers including Brad Pitt, Keira Knightley and Cate Blanchett in hit films like Pride and Prejudice, Babel and Hot Fuzz.

It was shot entirely in Brum.

But the creepy scenes featured in the movie weren’t all created by the scriptwriter.

Filming was interrupted by bizarre experiences during the shoot at Rookery House.
