Middleboro selectmen agree to another ghost hunt at Town Hall
MIDDLEBORO — By Eileen Reece“There have been numerous reports and articles written about activity at Middleboro Town Hall,” Rachel Hoffman of Paranormal Xpedition said in her request.
Hoffman described Paranormal Xpedition as an all-female group of nationally recognized paranormal investigators who are featured on the Travel Channel’s Paranormal Challenge. They requested a short tour at Town Hall to film for an episode of their TV program.
It’s the latest exploration of ghostly activity at Town Hall.
The Paranormal Institute of New England, headed by local resident Ed Beaulieu, was the first to investigate reported hauntings at the 137-year-old building in March 2008.
In April 2010, the Bay State Paranormal Society did an investigation, which was also taped for a cable TV show.
And in April 2011, ABC Media Productions got permission to film at locations around town for a reality documentary pilot show entitled “Ghost Town.”
The Irish pub that serves spirits along with the beer
Before Kells Irish Pub in Seattle became a charming family-run bar, it served as a waiting room for the afterlife — a mortuary purpose-built to handle flood of dead bodies produced by plague, mining accidents and violence in the early 1900s.
The owners of the bar say a piece of that dark history has clung to their humble establishment, meaning the haunted pub serves up a host of spirits, along with pints of beer.
Bartenders, patrons and ghost hunters all claim to have seen specters of ghosts at the pub late at night.
Inexplicable events have occurred that the owners say can only be attributed to other-worldly forces.
Mirrors have shattered, plaster falls off walls as if on cue and glasses have slid mysteriously to the floor.
The pub has been a beacon for ghost hunters in Seattle for years — thanks to numerous reports of paranormal activity and the building’s black past.
On All Saints Day in 2005, Karen McAleese says she saw something she still cannot explain walk through the kitchen of Kells pub, which her brother owns.
‘He was a tall man who looked like he was part black, with a suit jacket on,’ she reported to the Seattle Times.
‘He had very thin hands. He walked to the end of the bar and just kind of faded.’
Does Telepathy Conflict With Science?
By Chris Carter
Recently, journalist Steven Volk was surprised to discover that leading skeptical psychologist Richard Wiseman has admitted that the evidence for telepathy is so good that “by the standards of any other area of science, [telepathy] is proven.” Mr. Volk goes on to write, “Even more incredibly, as I report in Fringe-ology, another leading skeptic, Chris French, agrees with him.”
Mr. Volk might even be more surprised to learn that back in 1951 psychologist Donald Hebb wrote this:
“Why do we not accept ESP [extrasensory perception] as a psychological fact? [The Rhine Research Center] has offered enough evidence to have convinced us on almost any other issue … Personally, I do not accept ESP for a moment, because it does not make sense. My external criteria, both of physics and of physiology, say that ESP is not a fact despite the behavioral evidence that has been reported. I cannot see what other basis my colleagues have for rejecting it … Rhine may still turn out to be right, improbable as I think that is, and my own rejection of his view is—in the literal sense—prejudice.”
Four years later, George Price, then a research associate at the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota, published an article in the prestigious journal Science that began:

Exorcist bishop called in to purge demons from Welsh souls
James McCarthy, WalesOnline
Exorcising demons from possessed souls and removing poltergeists from Welsh homes are two of the more unusual jobs taken on by the Bishop of Monmouth.
The Church in Wales cleric told Wales on Sunday that specially trained priests are being recruited by families too afraid to stay in their homes because they are haunted by evil spirits.
Bishop of Monmouth, Dominic Walker, is a trained exorcist and said clergy across his diocese deal with two or three cases of “property possession” at any one time.
He also revealed on rare occasions it is not just homes that are possessed but people too.
More often than not both problems can be solved by saying a few prayers or blessings or holding a requiem mass.
But occasionally a full exorcism must be held.
The bishop, who is a senior figure within the Church in Wales, has a special interest in the ministry of deliverance – a term used to describe the process by which a person, believed to be under the control of an evil supernatural entity, is set free.
And during his 35 years with the church he said he has performed countless acts of deliverance along with six exorcisms.
Ghostbusters called in to find IGA supermarket ghost
Sam Kelton From: The Advertiser
PARANORMAL detectives are being contacted by more than spirits, with inquiries flooding in following unexplained events caught on video at an Adelaide supermarket.
The video, which has received more than 90,000 hits on AdelaideNow, Herald Sun and their sister sites, shows a packet of fruit snacks being flung from a shelf at the Brompton IGA.
The closed-circuit TV footage has led to numerous queries to Adelaide Paranormal Detectives co-founder Jessica Pulvirenti, who investigated the strange occurrence.
“Since this story came out I’ve had quite a few people contact me asking about the business and what we do,” Ms Pulvirenti said. “We also have people ringing us and telling us their own ghost stories.”

Former firefighters host weekly paranormal
Written by Thomas Stewart
It’s a topic rarely broached in most households, but a local paranormal group is up late on Saturdays talking it to death.
From their Cape Coral studio, Ian Hickin, the show’s creator, and Bob Kelly, his co-host, both members of the Florida Paranormal Research Group, discuss all aspects of hauntings, ghosts, UFOs and every out-of-this-world topic you can think of during their weekly Web show.
Now, after four years, the show has celebrated its 200th episode, which was on St. Patrick’s Day.
Hickin and Kelly, both former firefighters with the Bayshore Fire Department, said it’s their deep passion for the subject matter that keeps them coming back week after week.
