Over-Exaggerating Investigations

Here is one for all you International Investigators to get their teeth into!

Its come to my attention that a group of people went into a private clients home and performed what they deemed to be a proper investigation. The problem arises when we look at what exactly took place, a feelings and from a mediumistic impression a picture was built that proclaimed vortexes and spirits that were ‘too strong’ for the claimant. This resulted in the client moving home but still shaken up in their new premises! It was after consultation with the new team that the clients mind was put at rest and they slept for the first time in weeks.

Why is there such a desire to ‘ham up’ an investigation and cause such grief? Do these people not realise this is real life and not some TV show or hobby to indulge in and leave others in such fear.

Listen, this is not some pseudo-sceptical angle I am approaching from, I have experienced many events in my life that point to situations that we nor science can explain effectively, but there is a thin line here. When we Investigate, we represent the field of researchers and their desire to assist the public and understand some of the biggest mysteries in the world. The field is hard enough without damaging not only the perception some have of us but the general public who may not be as educated in such matters as us. Its utterly irresponsible!

If people are really serious about getting the truth and representing the field in such a way as building confidence, respectability and most of all, being of-service to the public, I would urge all to come together and work on pushing forward not only here but within other international and local co-operations. Get the word out, get fellow peeps into places like this and lets see what we can effectively do!!!

What are your thought? How do you assist the public against such problems? How can this be positively approached to gain maximum results from action without diving into the negativity that at times plagues the field? Would love to hear your thoughts.

It seems to me that investigators sometimes assume too much based on their beliefs. Not every spiritual force encountered is evil, nor is it necessarily a ghost, not all ghosts are vengeful, and even the ones that are sometimes have reason to be so. I hate it when people on TV sometimes refer to ghosts of ill-will as being “demonic”. From a textbook standpoint, I take demonic to mean something that was never once a human life, something a little more alien. Instead it is usually an angry or cruel spirit of a human, but one that I think should still be dealt with respect. There is some gray area to “spiritual ethics”, sometimes we want to antagonize a spirit just to see results in manifestation, yet at the same time we could be making it worse for say, someone who shares that living space with the spirit. I could go on about urging the spirit to possibly move on, but that moves out of the realm of investigation and more into shamanic/medium/clergy work.

I believe that when investigating anywhere it should be done with science first and faith second. You are there to figure out why and how these events are happening. The client is searching for reasoning behind the events and they dont need someone filling their heads with spritual mumbo jumbo. It seems that investigators tend to lose their purpose when going down the spiritual road. Now dont get me wrong, I believe in heaven and hell and believe that demons do roam our world. But you need to go into an investigation and perform your investigation scientifically to debunk events or capture and confirm events. Only if you have sufficient eveidence to go down the demonic road should you even think about bringing that to play. And in that event you need to keep the well being of your clients as your number one priority. Explain to them what is going on and ensure them that you are going to do what you can to help them. If it ever came to a demonic type haunt i would call in experts in that field to help rid the residence of the demonic presence. I would never do anything to make the client feel more uncomfortable than they already are and i believe that any team that does that shouldnt be in this field.

To me, there are two major culprits here…One being the biased brought in by the investigating team/members which may be based on religion or other thoughts. This is why it is important for my new team to not have any biases entering an investigation and sign paperwork to that effect as well. Various religious aspects and thoughts will be discussed to attempt an explanation afterwards.

Another culprit is the TV “reality” shows. People are either accustomed to or were “taught” by the way TV shows present “evidence”. It is becoming common practice of the shows to present something as “evidence” in a rather one-way perspective without offering options for other explanations. I find it even more interesting that certain shows automatically tie all their evidence to be relative for the supposed history of the location.

As long as we, who have good practices, stay strong we will persevere!

I have performed numerous private home investigations where the client has contacted me to come in to try to help and possibly find some answers as to what is going on.Unfortunately! I am faced with the same old story of “A medium told me that my home was infested with spirits, really bad powerful ones, can you help me?”
First of all,I think that to tell anyone that their home is infested with bad spirits is irresponsible and can be very damaging to the client who is already in a panic and with a fear so real they feel they have no other chioce but to move out of their home because of it.
Where is the rashional thinking behind all these claims? I see none and that`s a shame, because in my opinion it`s causing more harm than good…I know this from past experience. All we can do is try to bring some closure to situations like this, but if we can`t, then we have to find someone with the knowledge and experience who can.
